Books, Picnic and Not A Lot Of Stuff To Say
So….. it’s been a while since my last post but that’s because well, not much has been happening in my life to be honest. Everyday has really consisted of clicking refresh on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr (which I really dislike I don’t even know why I still look at it to be honest) and my YouTube subscriptions, though sometimes, if I’m feeling rather frisky I press F5 instead – just cos I’m hardcore. Or you could have walked in on me reading my book Oliver Cromwell: Our Chief of Men by Antonia Fraser – a mammoth book, but it’s really good, some parts drag and take a bit of working through but at other parts it’s insanely readable. I’m currently on page 544 out of 885 so only 341 pages to go! I love reading historical books, I have read loads of Antonia Fraser’s books such as The Six Wives of Henry VIII, Marie-Antoinette: A Journey, Love and Louis XIV: The Women in the Life of the Sun King and Mary Queen of Scots, I think I might pick a lighter read after I’ve finished Cromwell before I read King Charles II, but to be honest I don’t really have any “light reads” ready, The stack of books I have yet to read are: The Odyssey by Homer, Crime and Punishment by Dostoevsky, Anna Karenina by Tolstoy, The Owl Killers by Karen Maitland (which I suppose is a lighter read, as well as some Philippa Gregory books I still have to work though.) So yeah, as you may have guessed I am kind of a bookworm.
Also I spent 5 days straight watching Kathy Griffin’s My Life on the D List, I LOVE her, she’s so funny and I think it is one of my favourite shows of all time! I need to buy her book and her mother Maggie’s book actually…. Need money first.
Speaking of money, as I’m going on a camping holiday with the boyfriend next week for a week I need some spending money and mother had said I could have some spending money from her, but yesterday she found out her card had been “cloned” and over £1000 had been taken from her account so her finances have collapsed into a mess so hopefully that will be sorted out, but luckily my dad stepped in as he had set aside £800 for me to go to San Francisco where my cousin lived for a while, but as she has come back to England now it’s just sitting there waiting for me to have a holiday, so he’s giving me £200-300 of that money for this holiday, and I’m going to use the other £500ish to hopefully go to Lake Garda in Italy next year, just because it looks like this:
The only other ineteresting thing I have actually done this past week was go on a walk with my longtime friend Hannah along the river Crouch in Burnham-on-Crouch where I live.
This walk was along the same path I took a walk on for this video and it was lovely, we had a picnic and had a long chat, but my god it was hot that day, and I was wearing jeans and a bright coloured blue t-shirt, which, for someone that sweat as much as me was definetly a bad idea! Because where my bag strap went across my chest, I sweated through my top there, and the dye from my bag strap came off onto my t-shirt resulting in this:
God my neck looks orange there, whoops! But yeah, you can’t really see the proper dye stain because that just looks like a sweaty mess but I honestly thing that t-shirt is now ruined. *Hmph*
The place where we decided to sit and have our picnic was beautiful:
It had got a bit overcast by that time, but it was still nice, and we sat and watched the tide come in, and Hannah made me try this “Sea Avacado” thing that grows there, it didn’t really taste of anything but apparently her and her parents had tried some in Norfolk when she went camping there.
But nothing else interesting has happened at all really, tomorrow I was meant to be going to my friend Grace’s house for a tea party with scones, cakes and alcohol but I can’t afford the train fare so Steve is coming over a day earlier to keep me company with will be nice.
More interesting blogs are coming I PROMISE you, I will have a lot to share from holiday I’m sure, and before then I get to meet Steve’s new kitty Oscar, whom I will leave you with a picture of. Isn’t he adorable? :D
